Music in the Canyon All Summer Long
Ouray's summer calendar includes a rotating schedule of concerts, from free bluegrass sessions in Fellin Park to more formal chamber and folk performances at the Ouray Community Center and local bars. The acoustic intimacy of a small mountain town makes even casual performances feel special.
The Ouray Concert Series typically runs on weekend evenings through July and August. Check the Ouray Visitors Center website for a current schedule — programming changes year to year based on artist availability and community organization.
The Ouray Performing Arts Scene
Beyond concerts, Ouray has a small but active performing arts community that includes theater, dance, and community events through the warm months. The Wright's Opera House — built in 1888 — still hosts performances and is one of the few surviving Victorian-era opera houses in Colorado.
Dinner before a show, a walk up Main Street, drinks at the Beaumont bar — Ouray is small enough that an entire evening of cultural activity unfolds within a quarter-mile radius.
Where to Stay During Festival Season
The Lumberyard Condos are in the heart of Ouray's walkable center, making festival evenings easy — no driving, no parking stress, just a five-minute walk home after the last song. Book direct at ouraycondos.com for the best rate.
Groups traveling for a specific festival weekend should book as early as possible. Summer fills quickly, and Ouray has limited total lodging inventory.
