Why Ouray's 4th of July Is Special
Fireworks launched from the canyon walls detonate inside the box canyon bowl — the sound reflects off the vertical walls and the explosions fill the entire sky visible from the valley floor. It's one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in Colorado, despite (or because of) the small scale.
The celebration begins with a morning parade down Main Street — floats, bands, horses, and community groups in a genuinely small-town Fourth of July tradition that feels authentically American.
